Bio

Daniel Cepeda is a Film Composer, Music Producer, Guitarist and singer-songwriter from Madrid, Spain. After deciding to fully dedicate himself to study guitar and harmony he chose to hit the stage. Ever since he’s played as lead guitarist with many bands, Jazz combos and solo artists in a variety of genres, such as Jazz, Blues, Rock, R&B, Pop, etc. He’s been a private guitar teacher in his hometown and in a summer camp in New York, USA, where he played Rock / Pop songs for the kids, served as guitar player in the camp’s Broadway plays and conducted a Jazz band.

A guitarist by instinct, Daniel has a flair for playing catchy melodies that leave the listener moved by the raw emotion in them. Although his roots are firmly placed in Rock and Jazz virtuoso guitarists, he draws inspiration from many different artists and musical influences. “My style is electric. I can write a Rock Ballad today, a Jazz be bop tune tomorrow and a Pop song next week. If I was a dancer, I’d be dancing it all!” It is this versatility that has landed him jobs as session musician in a variety of styles. Currently studying a BA (Hons) in Music Production at Tech Music School, London, he’s composing, producing and arranging new songs with singer-songwriters, but also serving them as a guitar player.

Music is not a new passion for Daniel, however. He discovered lyric writing at age 12 and two years later decided to study guitar and harmony, when he started writing songs. But it wasn’t until joining other musicians to play live that he decided to make music his life dream. After studying guitar, music theory, aural, vocal technique, have played in different bands and sang in a choir, he moved to Dublin and Frankfurt, where he worked as flight attendant to improve his English and also meet other musicians from several parts of the world to play with. Music, truth be told, was always in his mind. “I always knew that it was a matter of time until I started playing with bands again, cause in every country I went, my first stop was always the music stores and local pubs, where I discovered new types of music, like Celtic music in Ireland or the traditional German music at the Oktoberfest. All those genres and experiences have influenced the musician that I am today. After all, my purpose to become a flight attendant was to improve my English so I could apply to a music degree in an English university”. Moreover, travelling has made him aware of the importance of things like punctuality, seriousness or hard work to reach any goals in life. Once back in Madrid, he studied Jazz Guitar Performance and got accepted in the prestigious “Berklee College of Music” located in Boston, MA, USA.

Now, currently attending a BA (Hons) in Music Production at Tech Music School in London, the capital of Music in Europe, and probably in the world, Daniel is sharing his time between enjoying playing guitar, singing and spending plenty of time in the studio with other musicians, where he plays, writes, records, and arranges material he hopes to pitch to publishing companies in the near future. Based in his hard working attitude and the demand of his collaboration from a bunch of musicians, the future looks promising!
